ARTS grants of up to £500 are now available from West Devon Borough Council.
Grants awarded are usually given to community organisations whose projects benefit a wide range of people within the Borough of West Devon.
In the past, these small grants have given financial support to the Digital Express Young People?s Project, Wren Music Trust, Tavistock Community Scrapstore and various other community arts projects.
Borough Council Arts Officer Eleanor Butland said: ?The grants aim to improve the quality, range and impact of the arts in West Devon, increase access to the arts and encourage people to take part.?
She said that applications for funding are only considered if applied for in advance of incurring costs, retrospective support cannot be considered.
A percentage of funds raised or sought from elsewhere is strongly encouraged. Support is normally given to organisations rather than individuals.
In exceptional cases an individual may be funded, if it can be shown that the project will benefit the community and that there is a clearly demonstrated demand.
Completed applications must be received at the Tavistock West Devon Borough Council offices at Kilworthy Park by Friday February 20.
