PUPILS from Lydford Primary School (pictured above) are taking a step towards helping to save the planet after solar panels were fitted onto the school roof recently.

As well as being able to produce their own energy, pupils at the school are now able to compare the energy produced on different days and over periods of time using the website.

The fitting of the panels was funded by grants from Dartmoor National Park's Sustainable Development Fund, Devon County Council's Green Challenge Fund, the Low Carbon Building body and various contributions.
