COMMUNITY Lynx has become the latest organisation to benefit from a grant from Okehampton United Charity.
Trustees awarded the organisation with £980 enabling them to move forward with the Children's University project. The Devon project, launched at Okehampton College in April, recognises the achievements of young people taking part in quality out-of-hours learning activities.
Okehampton United Charity has awarded grants totalling approximately £407,012 in 2012. It has been a year for large projects within the town, with the OUC financially supporting the sports pavilion, the skate park project and North Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team's new centre.
To celebrate this year's events, the OUC will hold its celebration evening on Wednesday, December 12 in the Octagon Theatre at Okehampton College from 7.30pm. There are a few seats not allocated yet, and open to Okehampton residents on a first come first serve basis. To get a ticket, e-mail OUC clerk Karen Percival on [email protected]">[email protected]
