POPULAR West Devon tourist attraction Morwellham Quay is receiving a new lease of life thanks a new edition of a gripping saga based on its history.

And the author will be signing copies of the book at Tavistock?s Book Stop tomorrow (Friday).

?Morwellham?s Child?, by Tania Cross, was first published three years ago with such success that it is being re-released by London based publishers Pan Macmillan.

Mrs Crosse shifted some 3,000 copies ? selling out twice ? when she self-published her historical debut through the Garland Stone Press in 2001 and the book has now been snapped up by Pan Macmillan, along with the sequel ?Tavy?s Daughter?.

?Morwellham?s Child?, which centres around the harbour-based Victorian history of the old mine site, was officially relaunched at its birthplace on the quay on August 6, but is enjoying its nationwide republication this week.

Tania, whose love of the West Country developed from family holidays in the area, said it was a visit to Morwellham Quay which inspired her to write her first book and discover her talent for the historical saga.

She will be signing copies of ?Morwellham?s Child? at Book Stop in Market Street, between 10.30am and noon.
