I AM sure that your readers will be pleased to read that the annual charity bonanza, held recently at the Tavistock Pannier Market, has again been a wonderful success for local charities.
On the day there were 17 local charities present, all raising much needed income in order to help local people, and I am glad to report that the money raised on the day was in the region of £3,800.
Thanks must go, again, to Tavistock Area Support Services for organising the event for the 23rd year in a row, to the other local charities present (representing disability, mental and physical illness, animal welfare and local church support groups), to Tavistock Town Council, the deputy mayor Cllr Harry Smith and his consort, the regular market traders and to Eddie Carruthers the market reeve and his staff for being part of a successful and friendly day.
It will not surprise anyone to hear that I have a waiting list already for next year's event!
