Devon & Exeter Intermediate 1

Okehampton Argyle Seconds 1

Exeter Bohemians 1

LOWLY Bohemians again proved a difficult side to beat as they were in earlier in the season.

Okehampton started well and had the bulk of the play but found little joy in the visitors' box with both sides cancelling each other out at the back. With a pitch as hard as concrete and uneven both sides failed to produce flowing football.

The visitors took the lead on the stroke of half-time against the run of play.

A cross from the right fell to the feet of their striker who drove the ball into the roof of the net from close range with Okehampton keeper Neil Clift having taken a kick to the throat in the ensuing action.

The second half saw a more direct approach from the home side aided by the slope. A fine run from Paul Yip saw his cross fumbled by the visiting defence and Tim Shaw tapped home.

Bohemians' keeper pulled of some fine saves to keep their share of the points with one spectacular effort from a Shaw volley and Okehampton had Clift to thank for three good stops with the visitors fancying their chances in the last minutes.

Next match home to University, 3pm kick-off Saturday May 11.
