Tavistock AFC 0

Bodmin Town 3

The ambulance was called down to Langsford Park twice last Tuesday night with two nasty injuries to Bodmin players.

The visitors opened the scoring with a goal in the third minute. A lovely ball was put through from the half way line which was pounced on by the Bodmin striker. An easy finish from inside the box put Bodmin 1-0 up.

Bodmin kept up the pressure with good chances including a shot from 20 yards just missing the target.

In the 10th minute there was a five minute delay when the Bodmin midfielder went down hard on his shoulder. He was stretchered off and met by an ambulance.

Play resumed and Tavistock looked better going forward. Glyn Hobbs set up Shane Krac who shot wide and Mike Southgate hit the post from close range.

The Lambs' defence were holding well at the back with captain Will Stringer challenging well and keeper Andy Meads pulling off some great saves including a fantastic tip over the bar on the 44th minute.

In the final minute of the first half, Hobbs went on a fantastic run from half way and earned a corner but the corner amounted to nothing and half time ended 1-0 to the visitors.

Bodmin could have gone on to score two goals in the first two minutes of the second half.

On the 46th minute Bodmin missed from three yards out with the ball being put wide after a low cross but a minute later they increased their lead. A massive scramble in the box saw the ball saved by Meads but a Bodmin player scored from the rebound.

On the 63rd minute a Bodmin player suffered a horrible ankle injury, which resulted in a 20 minute delay. The incident also saw Will Stringer sent off.

When play resumed there were chances for both teams. Tavistock had an appeal for a penalty turned down for handball in the box and Bodmin had a shot blocked off the line by Mike Arscott.

There was still time for another Bodmin goal though when a low cross came in from the left hand side and a crisp finish on the edge of the area wrapped it up for Bodmin.

l Tavistock's next game is against Newton Abbot at home on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
