OKEHAMPTON Primary School has shown its commitment to combating bullying with a week of anti-bullying lessons and activities.

On Friday, November 21 the school held a special non-uniform 'blue day', encouraging pupils to wear as much blue as possible.

Children worked in groups to create large banners that spelt out 'anti-bullying'.

The school's reception area also has a display dedicated to the week's theme.

As well as attending assemblies and special classes, pupils made blue wristbands in art class throughout the week to show their commitment to prevent bullying in school.

The sessions were the school's promotion of Anti-Bullying Week, an initiative set up by the Anti-Bullying Alliance in 2006 to shine a light on bullying and its detrimental effects on children.
