Tavistock Seconds 0

Liskeard 4

TAVISTOCK seconds hockey team played their last league match of the season and the first five minutes offered tension and excitement.

The home side were lucky not to be 1-0 down, thanks to a superb off-the-line save from Moyse. They were also unlucky not to be 1-0 up — a well worked short corner routine saws Read strike the ball hard across the D and Mackintosh just put it the wrong side of the post.

Liskeard took advantage of the miss and by half-time led the home side 4-0.

With the help of a tactical change from skipper Glanville, Tavistock played good hockey and prevented Liskeard from scoring more.

A diving save from the Liskeard goalkeeper prevented Kelly scoring.

The club expressed thanks to all who played for this season, to captain Glanville for organising the team, and to all umpires.

Man of the match: the whole team.
