IT'S a 21st century night to remember — the Tavistock Millennium Ball is all set to keep feet tapping and the dance floor bustling.
Held in the Tavistock Town Hall on Saturday, May 13 the ball will spotlight popular local band The Blitz — founded in the late sixties — and the powerful sound of quality 19-piece Mercer Evans Big Band.
Here is a winning combination that is guaranteed to provide music to suit all tastes.
During the sixties local band The Blitz supported such top groups as Procol Harum, The Love Affair and The Tremeloes.
The Mercer Evans Big Band was formed by trombonist Tony Evans and drummer Colin Mercer. They play powerful arrangements from famous bands like Glen Miller, Count Basie and Duke Ellington. They will be joined by dynamic vocalist Linda Evans.
