WEST Devon residents will get a chance to meet the Bishop of Plymouth this weekend as he repeats last year's visit to the Tavistock area.
On Saturday (June 25) the Bishop, the Rt Rev John Ford, will be speaking at a men's breakfast at the Burrator Inn at Dousland at 8.30am, followed by visits to Walkhampton Market and Horrabridge summer fair.
In the evening he will be sharing a strawberry tea at Peter Tavy at 6pm and will then join local clergy for an 'evangelistic tour' of pubs in Tavistock.
On Sunday (June 26) the bishop will officiate at a service of baptisms and confirmations at St Eustachius' Church at 10am which, weather and river conditions permitting, will include baptisms in and alongside the River Tavy just downstream from Abbey Bridge.
The bishop hopes for sunny weather and a repeat of his successful visit last year.
