A HATHERLEIGH man was joined by friends and family to celebrate his 90th birthday recently.

William George Searle celebrated at the Old Schools with a luncheon and tea dance.

Donations were given so the family could provide some seats for the Hatherleigh Church Yard, as over the years the seats have broken and gone.

The celebration raised £600.

Mr Searle and his family expressed thanks to everyone for attending the day.
