I refer to your report of October 25 concerning the closure of Bill the Baker.
It is always sad to see a well-established Tavistock business close but especially so when, as you so rightly reported, the owners have been much-loved and respected.
Bill and Pam Foster earned a well-deserved reputation for excellence in their business which won prizes at national level and, of course, they won a number of local awards — especially for their shop window displays.
However, they should also be remembered for being so much a part of our community and their kind contribution to worthy charitable causes.
They will be sadly missed, but how wise they are to opt for the quality of life and I am sure many local people will wish them well in France.
