Biggest change to town since Duke’s rebuilding

IF the Core Strategy is adopted by our councillors at their next meeting in December, it will result in the biggest change to Tavistock since the Duke of Bedford rebuilt the centre of town over 150 years ago.

The 750 extra houses together with its link road over the Tavy flood plain will not only transform Tavistock from an award-winning market town into a congested and characterless suburb of Plymouth, but will also deprive the rural communities in West Devon of much needed affordable housing.

We need a Core Strategy, but not this one. Let your elected councillor know your views . . . there is still time to influence the decision.
