Exeter Saracens U13 46
North Okes U13s 12
BITTERLY cold conditions saw the team travel to Saracens and play a tough game. Although it seems a recurring theme the whole team played with great heart against a much larger team throughout.
In the first half Saracens crossed the score line five times and failed to convert a couple. The Okes then dug in and through good passes going to hand and pace Will Cooper scored a try, running in under the posts to make the conversion for Billy Searle easy.
The second half then saw more of the same with Okes being out-muscled in the scrums and open play. Callum Pillivant took a pop pass to scurry over the line and again Billy Searle converted. Although by this time Okes were behind they never let their heads drop and continued to tackle with ferocity, a number of the team were unlucky not to score.

DESPITE the recent rain making the ground heavy underfoot Tavistock repeatedly moved the ball wide and away from the Crediton forwards.
The first try came as Dan Dawes playing on the wing finished off some good play. Tavistock continued to be ambitious moving the ball wide at every opportunity but Crediton's defence was robust. Just before half time, they scored a good try to make it 7-7 at the break.
Tavistock started the second half strongly and Seb Engel forced his way over as he supported a good wide break from David Milligan. The game was end to end until 10 minutes from the end when the hard running Crediton centre broke the line and the wing supported well to draw level.
Tavistock restarted by kicking deep and from a resulting scrum Kier Murphy moved the ball wide for Dawes to combine with Milligan to score again.
Crediton responded with a try, despite the tackling efforts from Dawes on the line; the try was duly converted to put the visitors three points up with a minute on the clock. Tavistock showed great determination and piled on the pressure and Aaron Dobie and Seb Engel ripped the ball from a Crediton attack to touch down to win it for Tavistock in an exciting finish.

Tavistock U12s returned to their winning ways with a convincing victory away at Exeter Saracens. Although faced with muddy underfoot condition the visitors managed to put together some flowing passing moves and proved too strong for the home side, putting on a fine display in both defence and attack. Close early encounters were dominated by the forwards with both teams finding it difficult to come to terms with the bitterly cold wind.
However, from good driving play up front outside half Tom Jackman found space on the blind side to sprint over the line from 20 metres for the first touchdown. The lead did not last long as the Saracens' forwards countered with an equally strong run to score a try in the corner that went unconverted.
At this stage the superior fitness and mobility of the Tavistock pack started to come to the fore which led to a try either side of half time. Charlie Charlton and Will Slater were particularly dominant with their powerful running and ability to bring the back line into play from the breakdown.
The home side tried hard to get a score back but it was Tavistock who rounded things off with a touchdown from a Daniel Dobie burst down the wing just before the final whistle. Zak Brinkhurst kicked well to convert all four tries making the final score 28-5 to the visitors.
