JETHRO?S Bar in Lewdown was the venue for a fundraising event with a difference last weekend. 12 brave souls raised more than £1,300 for Lewtrenchard Pre-school by subjecting themselves to Lewdown?s version of Big Brother.
Bar staff and parents of children at the pre-school were locked in the function room and filmed by CCTV cameras for 24 hours as they tackled a series of challenges including an assault course, a quiz and being tied together for an hour.
Punters were able to watch the antics live on screens in the main bar.
Highlights included a rendition of the Full Monty, where the men stripped down to their boxer shorts, and a meal where the menu consisted of snails, crocodile tail, chicken feet and eels.
Cornish comic Jethro even sponsored the contestants £200 to stand on one leg for five minutes.
The bar?s manager Sarah Kitson, who took part in the marathon event, said everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed themselves. She said: ?It was great fun and I would like to thank everyone who sponsored the event so generously.?
