The parliamentary recess gave me valuable time in the constituency.

I visited the site of the new Exbourne village shop. Said a few words at Sustainable Crediton's 'Legs It' event to get people 'moving for climate change'. Met with residents in Hatherleigh concerned about the possible loss of their market. Participated in the Tesco equipment presentation to schools in Crediton. Met the Chairman of the Ashburton Chamber of Trade. Opened a smart new block at South Dartmoor College. Undertook a site visit to review traffic issues in Copplestone. Spent time with the Crediton Chamber of Commerce. Held constituent advice surgeries in Newton St Cyres, Ashburton, Ilsington, North Tawton, Crediton and Exbourne. Spoke at a dinner in Coldridge and an evening of politics in Ashburton. Attended a fundraiser in Crediton which helped raise vital funds to support 4-year-old Billie Bainbridge's cancer treatment — I had the pleasure of meeting Billie's grandfather. To donate or be inspired visit http://www.billiebutterflyfund.org">www.billiebutterflyfund.org. Visited Newton St Cyres Arboretum (don't miss the Grade II summer house), popped into see the refurbished Red Cross shop in Crediton (high quality low prices), met with staff and residents at the Red House youth project in Crediton, canvassed door to door in Cheriton Bishop, visited Easterbrook Farm near Monkokehampton, which provides support and accommodation to people with learning disabilities — thank you to all the fantastic residents who made me feel so welcome. Attended the opening of an excellent affordable housing scheme in Tedburn St Mary, discussed setting up new businesses with budding entrepreneurs at Okehampton Business Centre and helped to wind up the clock in the tower of the great Chapel of St Lawrence. Time waits for no man as they say though the real problem in my view is that they never made enough of it . . .
