Barnstaple Youth 3 Okehampton Argyle U12s 0 ARGYLE, having had a long break over Christmas and only one game in December, started off rather hesitantly. The ground was very wet and muddy and was like running through treacle. This inevitably disadvantaged both sides. However, Argyle quickly warmed up taking several shots at the Barnstaple goal, but without success. Most of the action in the first half took place in Argyle?s end, which led to Barnstaple scoring three goals in fifteen minutes. Sound defence by Ben Henderson saved a further try by Barnstaple, ensuring that the score stayed at 3-0 at half time. Argyle came out playing a stronger game after the break, and put pressure on the Barnstaple side for most of the second half: both sides were very evenly matched. Both goal keepers were kept busy, with Argyle goal keeper Will Ingram making some excellent saves.
