BELSTONE maintained their 100 per cent record against Sticklepath in the Buckley Cup with a 55 run victory in the gloom of another indifferent summer evening on June 12.

No side batting first at Rew Meadow has lost this season —with this in mind Richard Drake (19) elected to bat having won the toss and put on a useful 54 runs for the fourth wicket with the in-form Philip Woods, who retired on 27.

Tim Argles and especially Pete Hardy, with three wickets in five balls, bowled economically towards the end of the innings to restrict Belstone to 111 off their 20 overs.

With Trevor Munkenbeck conceding only one run from his four overs Sticklepath were at once behind the asking rate, although Steve Grainger played well for his 24 runs.

All the bowlers proved hard to get away in the gathering darkness but the final bowling point was only secured when Sticklepath, playing with ten men, were all out with four balls of the match remaining.
