HATHERLEIGH Cricket Club U13s were beaten by Bournemouth in the regional final of the ECB National Cup.

The side, led by Tom Forrester and Gareth Tidball, put up a brave fight, scoring 56 runs for six wickets off 20 overs. But it was not quite enough to overcome Bournemouth?s team, which included eight Dorset county players!

Throughout the season, the winning batting partnership of Forrester and Tidball has been aided by John Harwood, Solly Evans, Patrick Ions and Rob Fishleigh, who have all scored heavily.

Bowling honours have gone to Tidball, Tristan Brown, Davis Binns and Peter Cooper.

Coaches Kerry Wedd and Charles Inniss are delighted with the overall efforts of the whole team.

To reach the ECB championships final, Hatherleigh saw off teams from Sidmouth, Axminster, South Devon and Paignton ? unbeaten in three years.
