BAT?S Badminton Club A team announced their arrival to the new year by playing Builders Badminton Club in the Plymouth and District Badminton League. With BAT?s leading Division 2 the match was going to be a testing one against a strong Builders team. In the men?s doubles rubbers Julian and James Cooper and Alan Berry played some of their best badminton of the season when they totally dominated the Builders? men. The BAT?s ladies, Francis and Becky Ward and Heather Cooper, found the going tougher and, though they played well, they were unable to match the feats of the men. The mixed doubles rubbers sealed the win for BAT?s when they took all three to take the match 6 - 3. A few days later BAT?s came up against Devonshire in the Plymouth and District Beckly Cup. With Becky Ward ill Steph was drafted into the team at the last minute to play with Alan Berry. Even though Devonshire play in Division 1 the BAT?s team proved to be too strong for them and BAT?s ran out the winners by 79 points.
