OKEHAMPTON Excelsior Silver Band lived up to their name at the 2012 West of England Bandsmen's Festival, held in Bugle on June 16.

Ten bands took place in a march to the annual contest, with the Okehampton band beating last year's winning Bugle Silver Band to claim the Deportment Trophy.

Despite the weather, everyone involved had a fun day, enjoying a picnic and their live performance on BBC Radio Cornwall.
