A YELVERTON couple, who met through their shared interest in church music, tied the knot at St Paul?s Church in the village recently, before enjoying a reception at the Two Bridges Hotel near Princetown.

Raymond Jukes, who is 81, and Ruth Sergeant, 66, are now cruising the Baltic for their honeymoon holiday.

The happy couple met in 1995 when Raymond, a retired engineer, was playing the church organ and Ruth was singing in the choir.

They got engaged on Ruth?s birthday in February this year.

Ruth said they both thoroughly enjoyed their big day.

?We had a wonderful day. So many friends and relatives turned up, and the sun actually shone!?
