THE 4th Tavistock Guides recently held a fundraising evening for the RSPB as part of Girlguiding's Rustle, Bustle and Squeak syllabus.

The guides sold cakes, biscuits, drinks, sandwiches, popcorn, smoothies, chocolate fountain covered fruit kebabs, pancakes and scones.

There were also wildlife inspired games and competitions for guides, parents and relatives to take part in. The event raised £130.00 for the RSPB in just one hour.

The girls chose to use part of this amount to sponsor a Tiger as part of the RSPB 'good-natured gifts', with the remaining amount donated to the RSPB.

As a thank-you for the donations, the RSPB sent the guide unit a bird box.

The bird box has been donated for use in the wildlife garden at the Tavistock Methodist Church.
