WE have just been for a lovely walk along the Granite Way.   There were glimpses of the sun, glorious views of the moor, loads of frogspawn and the first, tiny green shoots promising the spring and wild flowers to come.

There were also a few carefully bagged offerings of dog poo either actually on the path or, thrown into the side — an extraordinary phenomenon we have seen quite often.

I wonder if anyone can explain what goes on in the mind of someone who takes the trouble to put it in a bag and then leaves it there?   Very little I suspect.   Do they not understand that to do this is worse than just leaving it to rot naturally as the plastic will not rot and remains as a piece of offensive litter for a very long time?

Certainly one does not want to find it on the path where it can be stepped in or wheeled through, but, if any of the perpetrators reads this, can I appeal to you.   If you take the trouble to bag it, please also bin it in one of the well place bins at each access point.
