MID Devon Pony Club tetrathletes made a brilliantly successful 'raid' over the border to Dorset last weekend - all five members scooped first-place rosettes at the Portman Pony Club triathlon held at Iwerne Minster.

In a huge class of more than 50 competitors the mini girls' team, Rebecca and Charlotte Rowe and Scarlett Geering finished well in front of 12 other teams to retain their amazing unbroken winning record this year.

Individually, Rebecca came first, Charlotte second and Scarlett fourth.

Mini boys Daniel Worrall and Antony Geering teamed up with two boys from the New Forest branch to take the team first place, Daniel coming second individually with the best shoot in his class.

The organisers thanked the Mid Devon for travelling so far and congratulated the club's juniors, Sarah and Laura Gomersall, who as part of the Great Britain team had taken team silver medals in Athens the previous day. They added that they were, however, grateful that their absence had left a few prizes available for the other clubs!
