A CONCERT by four young musicians at Lamerton Village Hall raised £569 for charitable outreach work in Sri Lankan schools.
Jemima Goodall, 16, Jessica Lee, 15, Sophie Sakol, 16, and Ruth Dingle, 17, are all students at the Purcell School of Music.
Ruth is the grand-daughter of Ian and Maryan Dingle, of Portington, so the Tavistock area was chosen for their first concert.
The talented young performers designed the programme themselves and played a range of pieces, ranging from Bach to Chattanooga Choo-Choo, to an extremely high standard.
Following the highly successful first concert, it is hoped they will now progress to play in Oxford and Cambridge.
Village hall spokesman Clive Fairchild said it was a delight to see the girls play and it also provided an opportunity to use the new hall stage in a smaller and more intimate format.
