THE 25th annual Pram Race through South Zeal, South Tawton and Sticklepath was hailed as the biggest, best and most enjoyable last weekend.
In all 29 teams were under starters orders at the start at Reddaway Transport Yard in South Zeal last Sunday.
As ever, the charity fund-raising race attracted a range of wonderful pram designs and outlandish costumes.
Trophies were awarded to the following: Fastest: 'Boy Racers' from South Zeal, who beat the 'Round Table' team.
Fastest girls: 'Swan Lake' Hairdressers, Julian Court's girls.
Fancy dress, oldest team and oldest runner: Hillary Gillespie (as usual) with French Revolution guillotine.
Build: Vince's Chopper, a giant air ambulance by South Zeal's Vince Graham.
The award for best sponsorship went to Sticklepath's Paddy and Tracy who raised over £500, just ahead of the King's Arms' Brian Ainsley with more than £400.
In total £1,100 was banked and over £1,000 pledged.
