OKEHAMPTON Smallbore Club?s B team won division 2 of the North Devon League ? despite having had a card disqualified in an early round because it was not correctly witnessed. They were two points ahead of Bideford?s B team.

The A team finished seventh in division 1, but were unlucky not to end in a better position, as they had the best aggregate score in the division.

In the final round, the A team had a tough draw against Pinhoe B and produced one of their best scores, 390 points out of a possible 400, only to see Pinhoe come up with two points better.

The B team salvaged some honour against Pinhoe in their match, however, beating the club?s C team by four points.

Round 18 results: Okehampton A: Graham Spier 98; Ivan Trickey 99; Glenn Farley 99; Barnard Rendle 94. Total 390, lost to Pinhoe B 392.

Okehampton B: Glyn Flemons 93; Malcolm Flemons 95; Di Johnson 94; John Pettit 96. Total: 378 beat Pinhoe C 374.
