FOUR Okehampton Air Cadets recently recieved their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Cpl Nick Browne, Cpl Phil Reynolds and Cpl George Mingham have followed up the bronze awards they gained a year ago with silver awards. Cadet Ben Percy was awarded his bronze award. To succeed in the scheme, the cadets took part in a range of activities, including sports like table tennis and hill walking, as well as fundraising for different charities such as the Royal British Legion, Wings Appeal and the Okehampton Church Tower Appeal. The youngsters also went on an expedition where they had to carry all their tents, food and equipment for three days. If you are aged between 13 and 18, there are places at Okehampton Air Cadet Squadron for Girls and Boys interested in having fun and facing exciting challenges.
