NORTH Devon author Veronica Henry will be at Okehampton Library on Wednesday July 27 to speak about her latest novel, 'The Birthday Party'.
The novel is centred around the Raffertys, a celebrity family living in the glare of the media spotlight. Delilah Rafferty is planning her birthday party with a star-studded gathering of friends and family, but she has more on her mind than just invitations.
Henry's warmth and wit are evident throughout the book, with her fun combination of gossip and glamour ensuring an entertaining read.
This is the first book Henry has published since her bestseller from 2010, 'The Beach Hut.' Set in a row of beach huts on Everdene Sands, the novel follows the stories of those who own the huts, and whose lives are touched by their presence.
Both titles will be available for purchase on the night.
Henry began her career as a secretary on the BBC 4 radio play, 'The Archers' before turning her hand at scriptwriting for some of the most popular television dramas, including Heartbeat and Holby City. She now lives in North Devon with her husband and three sons.
Tickets cost £3 each to include refreshments, and must be bought in advance. For more details call the library on 01837 52805.
