THE programme for the inaugural ChagWord literary festival is now complete.

Writer and critic A L Kennedy, children's author and illustrator Simon James and a Saturday lunchtime session in Chagford Library with Moor Poets completes the line-up of the festival, from Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17.

Among the other authors already booked to appear are Kate Mosse, Jonathan Dimbleby, and Malcolm Pryce.

The weekend will include a variety of workshops and other events, including a performance by LiTTLe MACHiNe, setting poetry to music.

Festival organisers have also planned a series of run-up events during the next few months to build excitement for the event.

At the next event, Devon poet Chris Waters will talk about the life and works of the writer Edward Thomas.

The presentation on Thursday, February 7 will focus on his poetry, looking at his explorations of the English countryside, his finding of his true voice through his friendship with American poet Robert Frost, and his final journey to the Western Front.
