A VERY special auction of pledges will be held in the Memorial Hall, Walkhampton this month, thanks to the Yelverton and District Friends Group of Children's Hospice South West.

The lots on offer at the auction on Saturday February 27 range from a holiday to a bag of dog biscuits, giving everyone a chance to bag a real bargain and help the Precious Lives Appeal at the same time.

Tavistock auctioneer Neil Woolcock from Ward and Chowen will be in charge of making sure that every lot sells well. As all the lots have been donated by local supporters and businesses, every penny raised will go towards building Little Harbour, the new children's hospice near St Austell.

Linda Landick said: 'We are so very grateful to the team at Ward and Chowen, and especially Neil Woolcock, as they are all giving their time free of charge to make this evening special.'

Judy Pride, community fundraiser for the charity said: 'At a time when we are all watching the pennies, this is a great way for everyone to get real value for money and at the same time help us bring our special service even closer for the families with life limited children from this area.'

Tickets are £5 and this includes a pasty supper. The auction starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available in advance from 01822 852142.
