POLICE in Tavistock are appealing for witnesses after a car was damaged in Somerfield car park on Monday.
The damage was caused to the blue Renault hatchback car when someone punctured the petrol tank in an effort to steal fuel.
The incident happened between 5.45pm and 6pm.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the car park at that time is asked to contact Tavistock Police Station, quoting crime reference JT/03/129.
