TAVISTOCK Athletic Club are hosting an open track and field meeting on Wednesday, October 20 at the new track facility in Tavistock College.
Allan Herdman, their chairman, said: 'This is open to all seasoned and novice athletes over the age of eight. A limited programme of track and field events is available to choose from which will include sprints, middle distance, throws and jumps.
'The event has been opened to athletes from clubs in the region but the club would love to see anyone who fancies some friendly competition.
'If this is a success the club plan to make it a monthly event across the winter months.'
A charge of £2 for children and £3 for adults will be made and that will allow entrants to take part in up to three events. Registration starts at 6pm and the first event will start at 6.30 pm.
