POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted at knifepoint in Tavistock last month.
The girl was in Church Lane on Friday November 25, during Dickensian Evening, at around 8pm when she was approached by a group of six to eight teenage males who coaxed her by the threat of a knife and intimidation to walk with them into Garden Lane. While there, she was sexually assaulted by several members of the group. The victim was not physically injured but has been very distressed as a result of the incident.
The group were aged approximately 17 to 18 years and two of them were drinking Powerade.
The main offender is described as tall, possibly over 6ft, quite skinny with long arms. He had long light/dark brown hair (but not at the back) which was combed into his face. His nose had a large ridge on it. He was wearing baggy jeans and black zip jumper with green bits. He did not have a local accent.
Another offender is described as much shorter with black, quite curly hair and wearing a large brim hat. He had freckles under his eye area and was wearing a jumper and jeans.
One of the group, who appeared to try to discourage the others, had very defined cheekbones and blonde hair, wearing a orange/red jumper with black on the front and baggy jeans.
