WALKHAMPTON Memorial Hall is hosting the village's annual Art and Craft exhibition next month.

The exhibition, now in its 27th year, caters for traditional and modern tastes with works in a range of media.

The exhibition takes place from Thursday, September 1 until Sunday, September 4.

This year, craft demonstrations will be given by ceramicist and jewellery-maker Claire Wood, and by basket-maker and Devon Guild of Craftsmen member, Ian Strugnell.

Among the attractions there will also be home-made refreshments for the duration of the exhibition and a 'Creature Features' workshop on Saturday and Sunday giving children the opportunity to make fabric creatures.

Entry to the exhibition is free, with voluntary donations going to support Children's Hospice South West Precious Lives Appeal.

There will also be a charity preview evening, with wine and nibbles, in aid of this worthy cause on August 31.
