AN exhibition by Belstone artist Joyce Kastner is due to open in the village hall during this coming bank holiday weekend.

Joyce has always loved drawing and painting and attended the Byam Shaw School of Art in London, where she studied for four years, specialising in portraiture.

She is an associate member of the Royal Miniature Society and a founder member of the Hilliard Society, exhibiting annually with these as well as the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Royal Academy.

For the last five years Joyce has painted with the Belstone Arts and Crafts Group every Tuesday morning in the village hall.

She has raised hundreds of pounds for the hall from sales of her paintings and cards and it is here that a full-scale exhibition of her work will take place this weekend.

The hall will be open between 11am and 5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, August 29, 30 and 31. Most of the paintings will be for sale in aid of hall funds and cream teas will be served throughout.
