A WEST Devon artist made a television appearance on Sunday, painting a watercolour for the BBC programme Countryfile.
The programme was at the Two Rivers Paper Company in Somerset — the last paper mill in the country — and West Devon artist Jennie Hale was featured, painting a watercolour on a piece of paper made at the mill.
Jennie, who has a studio in Coryton, said: 'I work a lot with Neil Hopkins who makes paper at the Two Rivers Paper Company. I have been buying his paper for years and he likes what I paint.
'He asked if he could put me forward for some film makers that were visiting the mill, but I didn't think anything of it. I got a phone call a while later asking to be on Countryfile.'
Jennie was filmed painting on a sheet of 'blue paper', a paper that has been used in the past by Turner, that was made at the mill that day.
