ANIMATION and theatre will bring something new to this year's Honey Fair in Callington on October 6. which celebrates 32 years since its revival.

As well as all the usual honey exhibits and competitions, stalls and funfair there will be a movie project provided by the Tate Gallery where children can learn about art and animation in a large workshop space.

The Prim Raf Theatre in Biscombes Lane will also be opening its doors so visitors can get a behind the scenes look and see the set of its next production 'Allo Allo'. People can also enjoy Café René's hospitality from 9am to 4pm.

The Co-op store will be joining in and offering honey tasting in store and a film about bees and honey will be shown at various times in the town hall.

Eleven primary schools in the area have taken part in the children's art competition, which this year takes the theme of 'Cornish Mining heritage and Tamar Valley heritage'. It usually attracts around 900 entries.

There will be fortune tellers, clowns, various street entertainment and travelling musicians adding to the fun, and the day would not be the same without the annual town criers' competition, which attracts participants from all over the South West.

Shops will be joining in the window competition and in the town council chamber there will be an exhibition of world war two memorabilia and items of military interest.

The entire length of New Road and New Road Car Park will be closed on Honey Fair day but alternative parking will be available at the Saltash Road Car Park.
