Twenty-one fire fighters were called out to tackle an incident, believed to be arson, at a property in Callington on Monday morning.

Crews from Callington and Saltash were called to the property on Coronation Road at 5.30am, where they found the building well alight.

The crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to tackle the blaze and police and ambulance crews also attended, although there were no casualties.

Two hours later the crews continued to dampen down the area and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots. By 8.15am Western Power were requested to isolate the mains supply.

A fire investigation revealed that arson was the suspected cause of the blaze.
