South West Peninsula League Division One East
Crediton United 3
Okehampton Argyle 0
OKEHAMPTON started off strongly and played some lovely football in midfield where Stuart Entwhistle, Ed Squire, Colin Marshall and George Pitts all combined well.
Argyle should have taken the lead in this period but Crediton keeper Fred Tonkin made a fine save from Entwhistle.
After 22 minutes, Argyle's defence were caught out by a ball over the top. While they stood stationary and appealed for offside, Crediton's Richard Blake raced clear to score.
Argyle came back strongly and it was only the brilliance of Crediton man of the match Tonkin that prevented Okehampton from equalising, as he made a series of brilliant saves, notably from Entwhistle and Kinsey.
After the break, Crediton started to match Argyle in midfield and gradually began to gain the upper hand.
Okehampton's Steve Williams was brought down on the edge of the box as he raced towards goal, but Crediton managed to clear the resulting free kick.
The home side increased their lead ten minutes after half-time. As an Argyle attack broke down, Crediton played the ball long to Phil Greenslade who cut inside to unleash a shot. Wayne Baker was on hand to tap home the loose ball.
Okehampton's cause was not helped five minutes later when defender Mike Vernon limped off with a groin strain, and the scoring was completed 20 minutes from time when Blake notched his second goal of the game.

Dawlish United 2
Okehampton Argyle Reserves 1
FOR this semi-final clash Argyle had to make changes with Martin Taylor coming in for Graham Soby and Chris Hollands in for the cup-tied Matt Sanders.
Okehampton started strongly with neat football involving Gibbs, Clarke, Yip and Woolridge giving them the upper hand in midfield.
A through ball found Wooldridge on a one on one with the Dawlish goalkeeper and he headed over him into the net despite the attentions of two defenders.
Dawlish came back into the game, putting long crosses and throw-ins into Argyle's penalty area, one of which was flicked on by their striker past keeper Chris Dearing for the equaliser, despite Okehampton's appeals for offside.
After the interval an injured Argyle's Rob Clark was replaced by Jon Jo Fellows.
Dawlish created more chances and Dearing made some good saves.
Okehampton again had to re-organise, this time when Williams was forced to go off and was replaced by Dan Pengelly.
A Dawlish counter-attack resulted in them taking the lead and in the last 15 minutes Argyle piled on the pressure. Their best chance was with five minutes left when Yip beat his man and fired across the goalmouth but no Argyle player could get there to tap it in.
Dawlish held out to leave Okehampton Argyle Reserves to 'concentrate on the league.'
l This Saturday Argyle seconds are at home to Countess Wear in the Devon and Exeter senior five, kick-off 3pm.

Langdon Reserves 1
Okehampton Argyle thirds 4
Argyle went top of the league after two wins over the Easter weekend.
Goals from Monnox, Coakley and a stunning winner from Hall, gave Argyle all three points in Saturday's fixture against local rivals North Tawton.
Monday's game against Langdon was another good performance by the Argyle thirds.
D Prouse put Okehampton in front against the run of play and a goal soon after by Monnox made it 2-0 at the interval.
Langdon pulled a goal back soon after the break, and for the next few minutes looked capable of springing a come- back.
To Argyles credit they didn't fold and soon again were in the driving seat when they were awarded a penalty after D Prouse was fouled in the box. Callaghan converted the spot kick to calm any Argyles nerves.
T Wall completed ths scoring late on to give a Okehampton a 4-1 victory.
