OKEHAMPTON continued their recent poor league form by failing at the first hurdle in this County Cup competition.

A goal in the fifth minute from Bradworthy?s John Furze, stabbing in a corner kick at the far post, proved to be enough to take the visitors through to the second round.

Argyle had plenty of chances to get back into the game, but poor finishing seemed to be the order of the day, and highlighted the need for a good striker.

The best chances for Okehampton to equalise came late in the game, first Mike Vernon?s cross shot bounced off the top of the crossbar, fell kindly for Rob Sandercock, whose shot was well saved by Bradworthy?s keeper.

Then with just minutes to go, Rob Clark was unlucky when his shot beat the keeper, only for the ball to be headed away from just under the crossbar by Bradworthy?s six foot seven inch defender.

On Saturday Okehampton entertain Exminster side St Martins, kick off 3pm..
