WITH regard to your lead story on (November 25): 'Should new homes all be to the east of the town?') that Okehampton 'could not spread out evenly in all directions as the typography of Devon would not allow it'.

The answer, surely, is to change the typography. A simple change of font or print size might do it. Or as this is a planning issue, change the page layout — from portrait to landscape, perhaps?

Such simple changes would, I am sure, solve the problem of typography. I hope the planners accept these helpful suggestions in the spirit in which they are intended.
