FOOTAGE from Tavistock and district's past will be shown at a one-off event at the town hall on Wednesday, April 23 at 7.30pm. The film and video footage is from the South West Film and Television Archive and includes the 1978 Goose Fair, the 1952 Tavistock carnival, early 1960s Tavistock North Station and a train trip to Okehampton, a 1920s hunt meeting in Bedford Square, and 1964 demolition of the old Congregational Church in Brook Street, Tavistock. Tickets to the event are £4 for adults and £2 for children. Tickets are available in advance from Tavistock Museum. Proceeds will be in aid of the Tavistock Museum extension project.
