THE Junction Archers club in Halwill shot arrows at Santa Claus, penguins and Rudolf the red nosed reindeer this Christmas — not because they are a bunch of Scrooges, but as part of their first ever Christmas fun shoot.
Members met in Halwill Parish Hall to take part in the shoot.
The club shot a 'Plymouth' round of five dozen arrows at 15 yards onto the colourful Christmas targets. The group also enjoyed food and awards at the shoot.
The group was set up in 2012 following an Active Villages grant of £3,000.
In the last six months, the group has grown to more than 25 members. Junction Archers has three clubs, one for adults, one for young people under 18 years old, and one for disabled people. Though there are three clubs, Junction Archers all shoot together.
The group has indoor shoots on Tuesday and Friday evenings at the parish hall, and holds outdoors shoots throughout the year.
