A summer packed full of family fun has been organised for visitors at Buckland Abbey.
The abbey's Archaeology Festival runs until August 4, where children are invited to learn how to be an archaeologist with a variety of activities, including a 'CSI' activity, dig boxes and a reconstruction zone where they can piece pots together.
The weekend of the August 11 to 12 will see a visit from the Royal Shakespeare Company as part of their open stages project, taking visitors back to the War of the Roses with a weekend of interactive theatre, including medieval minstrels, crafts and a battle re-enactment.
Rounding things off on the August Bank Holiday weekend visitors can join the Medieval Free Company and travel back to 1471 to meet archers, millers, cooks and tavern owners at work in their everyday lives.
