OKEHAMPTON seconds squash team ended their season with a home defeat against Exeter Golf and Country and have struggled all season, finishing close to the bottom of their league. Shawn Jones snatched defeat from the jaws of victory losing 3-2 after leading 2-0, Dennis Edwards won 3-0, Chris Law lost 3-0, John Baggott outwitted his opponent to win 3-0 and Ian Pitts playing at 1 lost a hard fought game 3-1. The club are on the look out for any existing players and would also welcome any new players young, old, male or female. There are two men?s teams, an ongoing internal ladder, club nights where all are welcome and coaching will be provided to help new members learn the game. Squash at the club is a fun and inexpensive way for local people to keep fit (we even have a small gym), it?s £55 per year membership for adults and only £5 for juniors, it costs about £1.50 per game (compare that financially with other ways of keeping fit).
