A MAN from North Tawton is appealing for old photographs of Northlew to include in a memoir of his early life.

Barry Ware grew up in Northlew in the 1940s and 1950s, and is writing a book of memoirs, sharing his experiences and pastimes throughout his youth. The book will reflect on time spent with his father ferreting, rabbit trapping and salmon poaching, alongside his memories of growing up.

Barry is looking for photos of the area from the period, especially any of Crowden Road where he lived, or of countryside pastimes like ferreting.

If you have any photographs or think you can help, you can contact Barry by email, [email protected]">[email protected] or by calling 01837 82499.
