Vivid A league U14 girls Tavistock Girls 3 Lipson United 1 UNBEATEN all season the town girls won the league for the fourth time in succession. Tavistock had a number of chances with Hammond and Turner having shots on goal. Saunders and Glasspoole in defence had to stay alert as Lipson were quick on the break. Rose once again commanded midfield but it was Hammond who encouraged her team. The breakthrough came when Turner's shot at goal was flicked in by Moody. At the other end MacGuire had to dive at strikers' feet and knocked the ball round the post to keep Lipson out. Moody took the ball on from the half way line and a long shot went straight past the keeper. Tavistock won a number of corners and when one was crossed over, a goalmouth scramble saw an own goal. In the second half Eales battled away and set up many attacks and was unlucky not to get on the score sheet. Gordon was also unlucky as her speed beat the defence but Tavistock just could not score in the second half. A consolation goal from Lipson was well deserved as they never gave up, particularly little Toni Willmot of Lipson who never stopped running and chasing. Player of the match was Occky Saunders.
